Impressive gorges have been formed in the Ardèche and therefore they are quite famous. Vallon Pont d’Arc is a natural limestone arch over the river: to see this with your own eyes is even more impressive. Canoes can be rented in the adjacent village: this is the ideal starting point for a beautiful river trip. The already beautiful nature looks completely different from the water. The nature in the Ardèche is rugged, then friendly and that variation makes walking, cycling and canoeing trips very worthwhile.

In many ways, the Drôme resembles the Ardèche. It might be a bit rougher. The Alps and Provence are both part of the beautiful Drôme, which provides impressive contrasts. Deep purple lavender fields, immense fruit orchards, vineyards that yield a beautiful harvest on the most impossible slopes. There are renowned wineries where you can taste the best Côtes duRhône wines. Due to its relatively low altitude, the weather in the Drôme is a good sun holiday destination from early spring to late autumn.
